Waterpark Of Kalahari and Resort in Sandusky -The Best Amusement Parks In the World
Sandusky is already known as a vacation spot, being home to one of the biggest and best amusement parks in the world, Cedar Point. So it’s no surprise that Kalahari located its second endeavor (the original, located in Wisconsin Dells, which opened in 2000) to Ohio’s Fun Coast in 2005.
The Ohio park keeps getting bigger and better, this year with the addition of several amazing new features. Beginning in May of 2010, guests at Kalahari can now experience a waterpark adventure like no other.
Exciting New Things to Do at Kalahari Resort
The resort opened an Outdoor Theme Park featuring zip lines, a ropes course, and climbing wall. In addition, wild African animals roam the grounds, including zebras and giraffes and features up close and personal educational opportunities.
Kalahari is more than just a place for kids to play in the water, the resort is a destination with something for everyone. If you‘re looking for a place for children, Kalahari provides that, but also so much more.
Daily Admission to Kalahari
Overnight stays aren’t a requirement though. Day passes can be purchased for $30 to $40, depending on the day of the week and also a time of day (evening passes are available as well).
Staying at the resort is similar to taking a cruise. Daily activities are provided for families and children, including indoor mini-golf, arcade and even pottery making. For bigger kids, real golf is close by and easily scheduled through packages or with the concierge. A world-class spa and fitness center are on site.
The resort also boasts three sit-down restaurants which offer a wide variety of cuisine: Caribbean, Asian, Mediterranean meals and Las Vegas style entertainment while you dine, as well as a fantastic breakfast buffet. And of course, there are the additional obligatory kid fare places of pizza, burgers and ice cream.
The waterpark is massive and seems intimidating, but once you’re inside, each area is comfortable. The park provides towels, so no need to pack them or deal with the hassle of taking home wet towels. There is even a bathing suit store, so if you forget to pack something or decide you want a new look, you’re all set.
